Stuck in Elytra fly mode, even on the ground, game can't save, crashes

I updated to the latest version, 1.18. There were a few issues.

First, it did not ask me to update my world (1.17), I just joined right away.

Next, I elytra jumped, and couldn't stand up again (as seen in the linked video).

Then, when I tried to save and exit, the game froze, and then I had to force quit it (attached is the launcher screenshot).

Edit: I restarted the game, optimized the world, logged in, but the exact same issue.
