Terrain generation: floating pillars at border of two biomes

The terrain generation does not behave as expected at some biome borders. I found an example of floating terrain pillars generating at the border of a windswept_savanna biome and old_growth_birch_forest biome.

I have attached a screenshot for visualisation. The pillars also seem to have a straight vertical edge next to a chunk border.
