JVM crash (exclusive to macOS): C [libobjc.A.dylib+0x605d] objc_msgSend+0x1d

I have been trying to launch Minecraft on my Mac which I recently updated to the latest version, macOS Monterey (12.0.1). However I have not been able to launch any versions between 1.17 to 1.18 pre-8 (at the time of posting) and an error message pops up which I have attached.

(Edit: I also tried launching 1.16 to no avail)

This is the process:

1. I open Minecraft (Minecraft Launcher)
2. I select the version and press play.
3. After a few seconds the 'java' app (i.e. Minecraft) comes up in my dock.
4. Within 3 seconds, 'java' closes and the error message (pictured) appears.

Just to note, the loading screen does not come up before it crashes.

Also, the screenshot is from 1.18 pre-2 but it is the same error message for every version.

I have had Minecraft installed long before I updated my Mac

I believe I have Java 17 installed but I have attached a screenshot of my JavaVirtualMachines folder to make sure I have it installed properly.

This confuses me as I play on servers such as Hypixel on Minecraft 1.8.9 and that version launches seamlessly.

I will also copy in the crash report and 'problem report' of the java quitting unexpectedly.

Thanks

**This crash report attached (hs_err_pid1162.log) comes up when I launch 1.18 pre-8.
