Mac OS Java Edition Crashes with error code 0 when computer sleeps, when typing F11 and changing resolutions

Note this has been happening for a couple of months, under OS X Big Sur (11.X) and Monterey (12 and 12.0.1) and on both an Intel and an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro. The only commonality is that in all instances there was a second display set as the primary display (4k USB-C connected displays of various types).

 

Crash log included. Can be reproduced by pressing F11 repeatedly switching from full screen to windowed, and back. Can also be repeated when leaving computer idle and then display sleeps, believed to cause resolution change on external monitor where Minecraft is being used.
