Gigantic Performance Drop after a couple of minutes

I experienced an issue with a single biome world with the plains biome where after a couple of minutes after joining the world the performance would plummet suddenly to less than 1 fps before crashing. The performance was fine initially and I got a stable framerate. This happened multiple times after joining the world.
