Losing Strongholds

I want to announce that my own map which I have updated from 1.17.1 to snapshot 21w43a. Most of the Strongholds in my map are either lost or deleted. I don't know why this happened. I tried going far away from the old map area (1.17.1) to find new Strongholds but I couldn't find them. Do you know why?
