Spreading items out on crafting broke for a moment.

 

What I expected to happen was...:
When I started a new world, with cheats on, I wanted to see what the new snapshot held for me, and when I started I was in creative mode, but I changed to survival to get more of an experience from the game.

After running around for a bit I took the wood I had gotten from a bonus chest and tried to make a crafting table in the 4x4 crafting menu, and usually when I press Mouse 1 it spreads the item over the crating menu evenly. 

What actually happened was...:
But for some reason mine was bugged and instead of spreading it it sometimes either: Didn't spread it at all, spread it but in stacks of 64 instead of the 11 wood I had, or spread it out but if I moved it it would restack and leave the crafting menu. When I tried to replicate this after closing my inventory, I couldn't however. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a new world, cheats on, creative mode to start, with a bonus chest.

2. Take wood, or I guess any crafting material might work, and swap to survival.
3. Try and spread out the materials in the crafting menu.
