All of this extreme terrain messes with villages, trapping villagers in different levels of elevation

Ever since the terrain has been getting more extreme and cool, it seems that villagers have been ignored. They can't climb up this new extreme terrain, trapping them on top of mountains or at the bases of mountains. My suggestions are: 1: make it so that villages need a certain amount of flat space to generate, or 2: put ladders in villages to help them climb.
