Ender Dragon fireballs glitched

while I was exploring this new snapshot in a new world since I cant use the old ones
I decided to go to the end using stronghold since its been re-added when the dragon shoots its fireball (I think that's what they call it) and sometimes it just hit the dragon instantly is this a bug??

screenshot info : I didn't bridge there it was the dragon trying to shoot its fireball but got hit by itself
