Occasional crash upon enabling fullscreen while the Minecraft window is tiled to one side in macOS split screen
The bug
The game occasionally crashes when enabling Minecraft's built-in fullscreen mode while the Minecraft window is part of macOS's split screen. This issue was tested in macOS 11.3.1 and macOS 12.0 beta 4 (see Environment for more information). The crash report, only occasionally created, is shown here:
# # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007ff808733a5d, pid=68396, tid=259 # # JRE version: OpenJDK Runtime Environment Microsoft-22300 (16.0.1+9) (build 16.0.1+9) # Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM Microsoft-22300 (16.0.1+9, mixed mode, tiered, compressed oops, compressed class ptrs, g1 gc, bsd-amd64) # Problematic frame: # C [libobjc.A.dylib+0x9a5d] objc_msgSend_stret+0x1d # # No core dump will be written. How to reproduce
- On macOS (possibly dependent on your version), launch Minecraft and another application
- Hover over the green circle in the top left corner of either window, and when the menu appears, tile the window to one side of the screen
- Tile the other application's window to the other side of the screen
- When Minecraft finishes loading, enable its built-in fullscreen option (default shortcut F11)
