What I expected to happen was to edit the sign.

Happens in both survival, creative, and multiplayer. When you place a sign I expected to be able to edit it instead it just auto places it with no option to edit it. Happens on both nether brick fence and fence. I will supply any additional information upon request. Thanks in advance!
