Crash with java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.minecraft.client.main.Main

The game immediately crashes when trying to start up. It happens since 1.17 is out, but older versions that have worked previously generate the same error now. I have reinstalled the game, java (jre and jdk) and graphics drivers a few times now. Nothing has changed.
