Random world Deletion

I have made many worlds on my computer that have just randomly disappeared. I would spend hours on a world only for it to be gone the next day with no explanation. I close out my worlds like I'm supposed to, but it does nothing. I don't want to keep playing if all the progress im making will disappear in a matter of days
