Realms World fall-through glitch

When I log into my Realms world, my characters spawn with no inventory and the environment fails to appear. My character then falls into the void and dies. The game over screen does not permit me to respawn. This happens regardless of whether I reopen the world or minecraft window. Is there a way to resolve this issue? Thanks.
