Chunks not loading properly after dimension change

After going through a portal, as in a nether portal or an end portal. the chunks will not load outside of the first few surrounding the portal. This happens about 90% of the time on average, and seems to happen less frequently the more a dimension is visited Happens in all three dimensions. Exiting and re-joing the world fixes the issue until leaving the dimension again.
