ÅÄÖ åäö not working on finnish macs

We were playing with friends on a finnish server and we noticed that we couldn't write the letters å, ä and ö. When pressing, nothing happened.

We also noticed that those who were on windows based computers, could still write these letters.
No linux users were online so we donät know about them.
