Villager job reset bug

1. I was just in a village and was trying to get a specific book from a librarian, then, one time when i broke the lectern, the villager didn't lose the occupation, and was permanently stuck as a librarian with the same trades. I almost went through the whole village before giving up hope. Half of my village is permanent unfixable librarians now.
2. Also, i only have ever experienced this in 1.17, but it could be in other versions.
3. One extra detail, i trapped the villager in the house using carpets, maybe it was too focused on leaving the home that it forgot it needed to lose its job when i broke the lectern.
