Not letting me download 1.17

So I was trying to download Minecraft 1.17 when I opened up the launcher. I tried downloading it by launching 1.17 in the Launcher. I keep getting this error: Failed to download file.

I tried opening and closing the launcher and it still won't work and I keep getting the same error message please patch this.

 

EDIT: I just got the game launched by strangly clicking the url in the error message it just downloaded the file i needed from the broswer and got its self in the correct area and now the game is launched.
