Pressing 'ESC' while holding the item on a cursor in creative inventory plays a hand animation

Before pre1:

Item gets put back into creative inventory if ESC is pressed while the item is still on the cursor

Now (pre1):

The item disappears and hand animation plays but no action takes place.
