Game ended with bad state (exit code 1)

What I expected to happen was...:
The game to load fine after paying money for it.
What actually happened was...:
I installed the latest launcher only just bought the game. It loaded then when you clicked play the development console started loading and just before it finished it crashed. With the message game ended with a bad state (exit code 1)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download Minecraft Launcher
2. Click on the icon to load up the launcher.
3. Click play on the launcher.
4. Crashes in the development console

Please try sort this out for me as I have payed this money for the game and it does not work.
