Worlds can't load because of extended y coordinates

I updated my Minecraft today, May 20 2021, and i go to try and play my "old" survival world, as in the world i played in the previous snapshot just a few hours earlier. There is an error however when i try to click play, it tells me that the world i am trying to select has extended y coordinates that i cant load. Was this something removed in the new update?
