Stone slabs drop themselves when mined without silk touch, which is inconsistent with regular stone (which drops cobblestone)

It seems inconsistent and unintuitive that we have:

Stone -> Cobblestone

but not:

Stone Slab - > Cobblestone Slab

Stone Stair -> Cobblestone Stair

When mined (without Silk Touch)

 

I guess some people might consider this intended behavior, but I think it at least deserves consideration!
