Unable to make a tamed wolf sit after shooting yourself

Right-clicking tamed wolves does not cause them to sit. Walking up to any wolves previously sitting causes them to stand up.
Edit: this appears to happen only after shooting myself with a bow. Quitting and re-opening the game resets the wolf behavior.
