Unable to read older maps (item)

There's an issue with maps in Minecraft 1.6.1 when you want to make more maps (mapping larger area). Every map is created correctly but when you try to read older one the map is blind. It's like if the old one was replaced with another one. So when you for example have 5 maps only the last one is readable - older ones are blind.
