Shulker shooting projectiles to entity with no possible place to hit him

I was making a shulker farm when i realised that the shulkers fire projectiles even though the projectiles can in no way reach the target. This caused the duped/teleported shulkers to take damage. Also the minecarts get destroyed. The projectiles should drop to the floor because they have no reachable target.
