The Demo version of minecraft you can't get to use the "Shield" to block.

*When was gathering resources, the first time that i made a "*Shield" the "Mobs" started attacking me.Then i tried to cover me with shield and it didn't work the shield didn't work and i lost all my stuff, all my gatherings.
