Splash Potions Do Not Affect Skeletons

While throwing a splash potion of poison (level 2) on a skeleton, I noticed it did not affect him, but it did however affect me. No particles came of the skeleton, and it did not behave as if he was hit when the splash potion was thrown right on his hit box. I would recon it applies to other mobs as well...
