Mipmapping don't work

The mipmapping setting does not work. I tried the settings in NVidia control panel related to this and it doesn't seem to work. Please help it affects all the versions of Minecraft including the snapshots. I tried both with and without optifine and it does not seem to help. I need help with this my game looks so bad
