Fishing rod hook does not appear when cast

When casting my fishing rod, no texture for the fishing line or hook appears. The sound is made and durability is taken but no hook appears. 

To replicate: 
1. Open a snapshot world (tested in Creative and Hardcore)
2. Get a fishing rod
3. Cast it
