Piglin with crossbow still holds crossbow after being transformed into a Zombified Piglin

A Piglin followed me through my nether portal, and after a while, it turned into a Zombified Piglin. However, the Zombified Piglin still held a crossbow instead of a sword and hit me with its crossbow (not firing it) after I attacked it. It still does the same damage, as if it was a sword.
