Character is invisible and blocks turn black when picked up

Today I went to play on a server, and tried in a singeplayer world aswell, and I saw that my character, along with everyone elses players were invisible. I could see their name tag but i could see straight through them. This was the only version this happened on. I also noticed when I picked up some blocks, they were black. Only in my inventory were they black though. Please help me fix this!
