Amethyst Blocks Do Not Drop When Mined

The issue:
All in the title, really. Breaking an amethyst block with any pickaxe, silk touch or not, will not yield any items.

To reproduce:

In Creative mode, place some amethyst blocks, and give yourself whatever pickaxe you want to test. Switch to survival mode, and break the blocks. Nothing will drop.
