Chunk borders being weird

When looking certain directions it shows up, but mostly they don't when you try to turn them on using F3+G. When they do show up, there's only white lines going up at the borders, vertical blue lines wrapping around the borders, and a bunch of random white lines going all over the place. 

I can't provide an image because I can't get them to show up again.
