Minecraft unable to start with displayLink device attached to computer

Minecraft is unable to start when a displayLink device is attached to the PC. Is the device removed, minecraft is able to start normally. This is unaffected by the version of minecraft, Java, or the display drivers. I have checked many forums and I belive the problem is to this date unknown.

Other launchers are also not able to start minecraft with the device attached.
