Why do Glow Squids Despawn for no reason randomly?

I play minecraft, and i quite like the glow squid. but even if i type "PersistenceRequired:1" on the command, it doesn't work! It just despawns! I'm pretty sure it's a bug. If so, please fix it. We all love glow squids, and want them to STAY!
