Iron Golems in a 3 block deep hole becomes useless to most ranged mobs

If an iron golem falls into a 3 block deep pit, most of the mobs that are ranged can easily defeat the iron golem making them useless on defending villages especially raids.  This situation can also apply to ravagers if there were snow all around the hole.
