Totem of undying animation continues in spectator mode

The Bug:

Totem of undying animation continues in spectator mode.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Switch to survival mode.
• Give yourself a totem of undying.
• Teleport yourself high up in the air, so that you take fall damage and the totem is consumed.

• When the animation beings, quickly switch to spectator mode. (F3+N)
  →  Notice how the animation continues despite yourself being in spectator mode.
