Minecraft 1.6.1 crashed on startup when run for the very first time

I expected the game to start normally.

The launcher took time to DL all the required files, then when I logged in the crash report appeared.

Steps to Reproduce:
Download and install the latest Java.
Download the new launcher.
Run it.
Log in
