Unable to type å, ä or ö letters

You've always been able to type å, ä, and ö letters. Now you're unable to. I can't see any reason not to be able to. Now if you press ö it'll become some crazy shit like a "divided by" sign. Why did you remove the ability to write there letters? It also doesn't work with e.g. ¥ or double s (in german, not sure how to write one on iPod which I'm using right now). I find this really annoying and completely unnecessary to remove this ability.
