Game crashes shortly after loading main menu (Mac)

When I try to open Minecraft on my laptop, I have a persistent issue where the game crashes shortly after getting to the main menu. The launcher is fine, and loading the main game doesn't have an issues, but as soon as the main screen shows up it will freeze after a few seconds, stay frozen for a little bit, and then crash. I've made sure my OS is up to date, Java is up to date, Minecraft is up to date, etc. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the MC launcher without luck as well.
