launcher wont open

when i click on the minecraft launcher, it will load for a second then nothing. it says its open in the tast manager but theres nothing open and nothing in my taskbar. note, the game was working a week ago and now isnt.

 

i have changed my compatibility settings to open the legacy launcher but it wont work
