Minecraft will not change resolution when on fullscreen.

I am running Minecraft on Bootcamp, where I have a retina display and on my display settings it is 4096x2304. When I ran Minecraft windowed, it was really laggy due to the resolution, so I tried going into fullscreen and set my resolution to 1920x1080 to see if it would fix it. The resolution would not change on fullscreen. The only solution I have come to this is to change the entire display setting to 1920x1080 which is very inconvenient since it makes everything on the display low-quality.
