White screen after starting the game from the launcher.

 

For some reason my laptop can run Minecraft windows 10 version and heavily modded versions perfectly fine. However, my java launcher opens fine but when I launch the base java game the window is completely white, after a while I hear the menu music but nothing changes visually. I have tried updating my GeForce graphics driver to the latest version and ending "runtime broker" but nothing has changed.
