Can't log in with my microsoft account

I recently bought Minecraft Java using my microsoft account, this morning my Minecraft launcher did not open. Therefore I went to youtube, I right clicked on the laucher pressed properties then went to compatibility, and changed it to Windows vista as the video showed then I clicked on it and it worked but then it showed up with a log in screen. I tried logging in with my microsoft account but it will not let me, there is not a microsoft option for logging in. (This is not on the website, this is in the MInecraft launcher downloaded). So maybe mojang could provide me information how I can log in using my microsoft account or add a option to log in that way.
