I had updated JAVA on my computer and now I cannot connect to Minecraft servers

I had received a notification to update java oracle on my computer, after I had updated it, I booted up Minecraft looking to play some multiplayer servers. However I have received an error "io.netty.channel.abstractchannel$annotatedconnectexception: connection timed out: no further information" I have tried redownloading both Minecraft and Java and have reset every possible device I could reset, I checked firewall permissions and everything I have no idea why this update would make it so that Minecraft would be unable to connect to servers.
