Sculk sensors are not activated upon items entering hoppers

The Bug:

Sculk sensors are not activated upon items entering hoppers.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Throw an item into a hopper.
  →  Notice how the sculk sensor does not activate upon doing this.

Additional Information:

This could be considered as a feature request or maybe this works as intended. I've reported this to let Mojang decide, however.
