Java edition not launching after it has previously launched

i bought the minecraft java version at first but i ended up buying the wrong version so i also bought the windows 10 version for cross platform play and kept the Java edition. my friend invited me to a realm in Java edition however when i opened Java launcher up, it would not open at all. i tried uninstalling launcher and reinstalling and it does the same thing. i changed the compatibility to "Windows Vista" and run as administrator and still wont launch or open. i even uninstalled windows 10 version and didnt work. my only option i can think of is an issue with the default file location because it seemed uncomplete  but it told me that was the default file location
