When having Bad Omen effect and going through End Portal the effect clears

I had just got the Bad Omen effect from a pillager outpost as I wanted to trigger a raid at my base. The quickest way to get back to my base was to use the End Portal as it is far away . When I jumped through the Portal the effect had cleared. I thought it may have been a one off glitch but I wanted to check. This time I recorded myself and the exact same thing happened. It is definitely repeatable.
