LAN World won't connect

When trying to create a LAN world it pops up on the servers list on the other device but it gives out an error code saying, "unable to join world." I have been trying to play a LAN world with sibling but nether of them can join my LAN world. Maybe it's because I am new to the java version, but we have been rying for months now.
