Fence gates textures mess up when placed next to block but not fence.

When a fence gate is placed next to a block on one of the sides the textures for it will not appear when opened and gives the same affect as the back of stairs when closed. When open you can see through it. I have tested to see if it was my texture pack but it is the same in default.
